Oil-based transportation fuels such as gasoline and diesel significantly contribute to GHG emissions around the world, as well as to health-related problems caused by urban air pollution. One cleaner-burning alternative fuel that has a lower carbon footprint and reduced pollutant emissions is Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). IMW Industries provides state-of-the-art CNG fuelling systems for vehicle fleets of all shapes and sizes, including commercial transport trucks and municipal buses. In fact, every year, IMW products keep more than 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide out of the air we breathe, and save vehicle fleet operators millions of dollars in fuel costs.

    HOW IT WORKS
As a fuel source, natural gas has a lower carbon content than oil, which means less carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere during the combustion of CNG compared to oil-derived fuels like gasoline or diesel. In addition to end-use combustion, the life-cycle emissions from natural gas production are much less carbon intensive than oil extraction and refinement. As a result, switching from the use of gasoline or diesel to CNG results in significant GHG emissions reductions.

    CARBON OFFSETS MADE IT HAPPEN
Offsetters and IMW are teaming up to increase the usage of CNG and reduce GHG emissions from commercial and industrial vehicles. Natural gas is an abundant resource, but there is limited availability of CNG for consumers at fuelling stations around the world. Consequently, funding from carbon offsets helps to support investment in the development, manufacture and distribution of CNG technologies.
