VP Business Development
Steve brings over 10 years of management, strategic consulting and business development experience working in environmental markets, sustainability, international business and entrepreneurial ventures both in the private and NGO sectors. Steve currently serves as the VP of Business Development for Offsetters, where he manages project origination, commercial engagements and strategic partnerships for the AB32 market and emerging ecosystem markets.
Prior to joining Offsetters, Steve was Head of New Markets and Senior Manager of Global Consulting services for EcoSecurities, one of the largest developers of emission reduction projects for the global carbon markets. While at EcoSecurities, Steve managed business development, corporate strategy and marketing for voluntary and pre-compliance carbon markets; and, successfully built a portfolio of Fortune 500 clients, commercial partners and new products and services within the international carbon markets.
Prior to joining EcoSecurities, Steve worked at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private investment division of the World Bank. While at the IFC, Steve helped launch the Grassroots Business Initiative which provides financing, technical assistance and marketing services to social enterprises throughout the developing world. Before joining the IFC, Steve lived and worked in Vietnam as the Commercial Director for a mass-market manufacturer of natural fiber products, principally for IKEA. Steve holds a BA from Georgetown University and lives in Portland, Oregon.
